Members of Open Door to exhibit art works

-

A Bray art group from Open Door Day Centre will exhibit their work at Signal Arts Centre in the coming weeks.

Members attend daily art and ceramic classes at the Vevay Road Centre. Their exhibition will be on from Monday, September 17, until Sunday, September 30.

Each artist has found a way to express their ideas through mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolour paint, mixed media, pottery and ceramics and have achieved a high standard in both visuality and presentation.

The overall theme of this exhibition is to demonstrate the universal reach of art and ceramics.

The impetus of the event is to create a natural meeting point for all the artists under the guidance of Jenny Dann and Mark Meakin with each member progressively gaining a skill set which has helped them achieve their goals.

The artists who attend benefit from the physical therapy aspect of art and ceramics while also enjoying the social interaction.

This exhibition focuses on the imagination of the artists over the past year and the resulting work is fresh, colourful and inspired.

An opening reception will take place on Sunday, September 23 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. A

Open Door hosts a range of activities at the centre for adults with physical disabilities.

As well as art and ceramics, members avail of physiotherapy, woodwork, music and much more. Open Door can be contacted on 01 2867123.
