Parenting adolescents

Bray Area Partnership is offering a free Parents Plus Parenting Adolescents course in Bray.

The course will run on Tuesday mornings for six weeks, starting on September 18.

The course aims to promote effective communication and positive relationships in families with adolescents aged from 11 to 16.

Topics covered include getting to know and connecting with your teenager; communicating positively and effectively; building your teenager’s self-esteem and confidence; negotiating rules and boundaries; teaching teenagers responsibility; positive discipline; managing conflict; and solving problems together.

‘We’ve had great feedback on this course,’ said Jennifer Jones at the Partnership.

‘People who attended said they found it really helpful and enjoyed being able to share the experience with other parents in a similar situation.’

To qualify for this course, you must be living in the greater Bray or greater Greystones areas, and meet certain other criteria.
