Road run is a vintage event
THIS year’s Liam Kelly Memorial Run attracted 96 vintage cars with some of the participants travelling from the UK to be involved.
The cars, harking back to a by-gone golden era of motoring, dated from 1910 onwards and offered up a varied and eclectic range of machines for the participants and interested spectators to view at the start and finish points.
The Grove Bar in Kilpedder provided the base for the event which was organised by the Garden of Ireland Vintage Car Club.
Now in its fifth year the event began with a welcoming party in the Grove Bar where music was provided by Cuillin.
The following morning the main run took place with the vehicles travelling to Turlough Hill Power Station where the drivers and passengers were treated to a tour of the facility. From there the participants travelled to Lynham’s of Laragh for lunch and a chat before making the return trip to the Grove Bar where a presentation ceremony took place.
