Fine after black bags dumped

-

A BRAY RESIDENT was fined after items discovered in three illegally dumped black bags were found to belong to her.

Kelly Duignan, 80 Cois Cairn, Bray, represented herself during proceedings in front of Judge David Kennedy at Thursday’s sitting of Bray District Court.

On February 2 of this year, a litter warden from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council received a call about six black bags which had been illegally dumped at the side of a road in Rathmichael.

Upon further inspection, three of the bags contained evidence belonging to the accused.

Ms Duignan, a training manager in a hotel, pleaded not guilty and said she had ‘no idea where that road even is’.

Having been notified that the clean-up costs were €500, Judge Kennedy imposed a fine of €750 on Ms Duignan, or €1,250 in total when combined with the clean-up costs.
