With murder of Bobby
A 31-year-old Dublin man has appeared before the courts in Bray and Clover Hill, charged with the murder of Bobby Messett.
Mr Messett died on June 5 after being shot at Bray Boxing Club, located at the harbour.
Coach Pete Taylor sustained gunshot wounds to the arm and chest in the incident, and a third man was shot in the leg.
Gerard Cervi, of no fixed abode, with a previous address at East Wall in Dublin, was arrested on Thursday, September 6 and detained at Bray Garda Station where he was questioned.
Cervi was charged at a special sitting of Bray District Court on the night of Tuesday, September 11. He was remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court. Matters have been further adjourned to a later date.
Bobby Messett (50) had been attending the gym for an early morning workout when a gun- man entered Bray Boxing Club and opened fire.
Cervi was granted free legal aid at the court sitting in Bray.
A woman in her 20s, arrested on September 8 in connection with the shooting, was subsequentÂly released without charge.
