Broadway show to raise money for sports facility

-

The community of Enniskerry is holding a Broadway show on Saturday,November 3, to help re-build the ‘Cage’ five-a-side astro facility in the Bog Meadow.

The fundraising campaign has reached €10,000 and is supported by Enniskerry FC.

Fifth and sixth class pupils from St Mary’s and St Gerards, Powerscourt NS and St Patrick’s, Curtlestown, all took some time out recently to cheer for the efforts to re-build the ‘Cage’.

Fundraising efforts so far have included two bag -acks at Dunnes in Cornelscourt, over-35s players raised €1,000, and Enniskerry FC donate €5,000 from club savings.

Now the village is coming together to stage a gala fundraising event, The Enniskerry Broadway Show. The event takes place on Saturday, November 3, in the Powersourt Hotel. Sponsors Gaelic Plant Hire and Universal Music are helping to make the project a reality.

This is very much a cross-community event to create a better facility for everyone in the Bog Meadow. All Enniskerry’s major clubs and user groups have been invited to display their musical talents with team participants drawn from a wide range of schools, groups, clubs and businesses in the community.

All funds raised will be held in a dedicated savings account specifically for the project.
