WICKLOW will join the nation in celebrating Women’s Enterprise Day on October 18.

The programme was launched last week by Minister for Busines, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys. The Wicklow event will take place at Powerscourt House, with guest speaker Sarah Slazenter. The managing director of Powerscourt Estate will give an inspirational talk ahead of networking over afternoon tea in the garden room, in conjunction with Local Enterprise Office Wicklow.

Events around the country are being held with the theme ‘From Local to Global’, aimed at inspiring and educating the next generation of female business leaders to take their local ideas and make them a global success.

Aisling Hurley, of The Business Fairy Digital Marketing Agency, will also be speaking on how to embark on a journey from local to global opportunities and how to connect with international markets.

Heather Humphreys T.D., Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation said; ‘We have some of the world’s finest business women in Ireland, who are inspiring the next generation. It is important we ensure that female entrepreneurs have access to the training, funding and supports that they need to start and grow their business. These female entrepreneurs should not just be thinking about these shores, they should be looking to go global, and my Department, through the relevant agencies, is ensuring they have the support they need to become world leaders in their sector.’
