Two local bars into the final of Irish Pub Awards

STAFF at two Co Wicklow pubs were celebratin­g last Wednesday evening as they sailed into the national finals of the Irish Pub Awards.

Both Mickey Finns in Redcross and The Brass Fox in Wicklow town were winners at the east regional finals in Sallins, Co Kildare, securing their places in the finals.

Micky Finns was crowned the regions Best Tourist Pub while The Brass Fox, which opened earlier this year, was awarded the Best Newcomer title.

There were nine winners in total on the night and there will be seven rounds of regional awards altogether. The prize package for all 63 finalists will include a management training course to help them progress their business further.

The National Pub Awards take place at the RDS Concert Hall in Dublin on Wednesday, November 21.

‘ These awards are an excellent vehicle to showcase what the pub has to offer the modern customer,’ said Padraic McCann, President of the Vintner’s Federation.
