Last chance to enter 63rd Kilcoole Music Festival
KILCOOLE MUSIC FESTIVAL is still accepting entries for a short time, for anyone who missed last week’s deadline and would like to take part.
This 63rd Kilcoole Music Festival will take place from Wednesday, October 31, to Sunday, November 4, at St Patrick’s Hall.
Founded in 1955 by the district nurse at the time, Mary Kieran, the festival has grown from a half-day of competitions, to its present day format with six days of competitions in vocal, choral, instrumental and orchestral music, as well as speech and drama.
It is one of the oldest and most renowned music festivals in the country.
The aim of the Kilcoole Music Festival is to provide a platform for children and adults to perform in public.
The festival boasts performances of a very high standard and attracts some of the most highly qualified adjudicators in the country along with extremely talented competitors, both local and national.
This year, unlike previous years, the festival will run for five consecutive days during the autumn mid-term break. All choral competitions will be held in Colaiste Chraobh Abhann.
