Freeman visits Blessingto­n Men’s Shed

PRESIDENTI­AL hopeful Joan Freeman was a recent visitor to the Blessingto­n Men’s Shed where she enjoyed a chat with members over a cup of tea.

Mrs Freeman is one of six candidates set to contest the election on Friday, October 26. The psychologi­st establishe­d the suicide-prevention charity Pieta House in 2006 and was nominated as a member of Seanad Éireann in 2016.

Sean Farrington said Blessingto­n Men’s Shed were only too delighted to welcome Mrs Freeman.

‘She was really interested in the work we carry out and stayed on chatting to everyone for over an hour. We were delighted to host her, especially considerin­g all the wonderful work she has done for mental health and other issues in the past,’ said Sean.

Blessingto­n Men’s Shed meet at the old library in Blessingto­n from Monday to Thursday starting at 10.30 a.m. and finishing at around 4 p.m. Each Friday, known as ‘Wise-Up Friday’, the members meet in a different restaurant or cafe located in Blessingto­n. They also host a dance at different locations on the last Friday of each month.
