Walking group meet each week

ROUNDWOOD Whizzers Walking Group is back in action, meeting at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the Coach House car park.

Everyone is welcome to come along to walk at their own pace for approximately one hour. People of all ages and fitness levels can take part.

In association with the ‘Get Ireland Walking’ initiative, the Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group participated in the National Community Walking Day on Sunday as part of European Week of Sport 2018.

The walk started from Roundwood Parish Hall at 2 p.m. and continued along the 6km on the Vartry Reservoir Trails. THE Coral Leisure Centre in Wicklow town will be opening from 6 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a trial period of one month.

The new opening hours for the pool and gym are from 6 a.m. to 9.45 p.m. on Monday; 9 a.m. to 9.45 p.m. on Tuesday; 6 a.m. to 9.45 p.m. on Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 9.45 p.m. on Thursday; 6 a.m. to 9.45 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The trial opening hours started on Monday, October 1, and will last until Wednesday, October 31. The success of the increased opening hours will be reviewed towards the end of the month, when an update will be provided.
