Triumph classic cars club makes donation of €1,000 to Lakers

-

THE Triumph Classic Owners Club recently presented Lakers with a cheque for €1,000.

Members of the club recently did a collection, and one of their members Michael O’Connor received a substantial donation from his employer Nixdorf. Lakers was the group’s chosen charity.

‘We are delighted to receive this,’ said a spokeswoman for the organisation. ‘Every donation makes a huge difference to the daily runnings. Anyone interested in organising an event or making a donation can call the office on 01 2022694.

Lakers is a sports, social and recreation club for adults and children who have an intellectual disability.

The Triumph Classic Owners Club was founded in 1986. They allow other cars to join them on their runs.

They hold regular meetings, the last Sunday of each month in Dublin, unless there is a show taking place.

The bulk of the membership lives close to the Dublin area, although almost 30 per cent of members are living outside this area.

The club supplies membership cards, regalia, a club newsletter, annual calendar and a website. The meetings and events provide the opportunity to get advice on classic car care and how to solve problems.
