Brid Clancy and Catherine McGillcudd­y played their cards right to take first place for North/ South on Monday, September 24, second Monica Brady and Catherine Halligan, third Paddy O’Brien and Margaret Bolger.

First place for East/West were Maura Gaskin and Clare Sally, second Maria Magee and Judy Skates and third Phil Power and Bridie Nolan.

The final competitio­n for September saw Monica Brady and June Digby take first place for North/South, second Nancy O’Brien and Catherine McGillycud­dy and third Maria Magee and Judy Skates.

LUNCH CLUB

A reminder that the Active Retirement Lunch club will take place on Friday, October 19, in the Coach House Roundwood at 1.30.

CREATE YOUR OWN PAINTING

Create your own painting with guidance. All art materials will be supplied in Roundwood Parish Hall on Friday, October 12, at 7.30 p.m. Refreshmen­ts will be served and raffle on the night. Tickets are €20 and all proceeds will go to the Mustard Seed Communitie­s, who care for disabled and abandoned children in Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. Fun Bingo will take place on in the Annamoe Centre on Sunday, October 7, from 3 p.m. Family members and friends are more than welcome to attend. €5 per book and great raffle prizes. Come along and enjoy.

CALARY ART EXHIBITION

Calary Church is once again holding an Art Exhibition. It will open at 7.30 p.m. on Friday, October 12, continue between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday the 13th and between midday and 2.30 p.m. on Sunday the 14th (after which the Harvest Service will be held). This event is kindly sponsored by Wicklow County Council Creative Ireland Programme. CALARY HARVEST SERVICE

Calary’s Harvest Thanksgivi­ng Service will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, and will be followed by Harvest Tea in the church room. This is always a wonderful event and we look forward to welcoming all our friends to it.

SET DANCING

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s every Thursday night from nine till 11 p.m. MASS OF THE ANGELS Our annual Mass of remembranc­e will be on Saturday, October 6, at 6.00 p.m in Roundwood Church. This special Mass will be for the parents and fam- ilies of babies who died before birth, at birth, or in infancy, and for those who died in early childhood, youth and young adulthood either in recent years or in the past. We extend a very warm welcome to all parents, families, relatives and friends who have suffered such a loss.

CAR BOOT SALE

The monthly car boot sale will take place in Roundwood Parish Centre on next Sunday, October 13, from midday to 4 p.m. It is proposed to have our November car boot sales on the second Sunday of the month on November 10.

MUSIC IN CALARY

The final concert in the music in Calary 2018 series will take place in Calary Church at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 5, when Musici Ireland will play Johann Stamitz’s Bassoon Quartet No five in Bb major, Beethoven’s String Trio in C Minor Op nine No three, Franz Danzi’s Bassoon Quartet Op 40 no three in Bb and Mozart’s Bassoon Quartet in Bb. MATHS LESSONS

Rebecca Delamere will be teaching group maths lessons on a weekly basis in Roundwood for first year students. Class sizes will be very small. These lessons provide support for students who may be struggling with maths or students who are aiming for high grades and also prepare students for their maths exams. DONEGAL MUSIC WEEKEND

There will be a music weekend in Donegal from the second to November 4 This will be a threeday coach tour at a price of €289 per person sharing. The price includes the bus from Roundwood to Donegal and back to Roundwood, two nights dinner, bed and breadfast in four star Clonee Hotel, Letterkenn­y with music nightly with Lisa McHugh, Derek Ryan and Gerry Guthrie. ROUNDWOOD WHIZZERS

Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action meeting at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the Coach House car park. All welcome to walk at your own pace for approximat­ely one hour. In associatio­n with GET IRELAND WALKING the Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are participat­ing in the National Community Walking Day on Sunday, September 30, as part of European Week of Sport 2018. Our walk will start from outside the Roundwood Parish Hall at 2 p.m. for approximat­ely 6km on the Vartry Reservoir Trails. ANGEL HEALING

Angel Healing and Angelic Guidance is back tomorrow evening, Monday, September 3, in the Parish Hall Roundwood at 7.30. So if you would enjoy an evening of peace relaxation and hands on energy healing join us for a wonderful new experience.

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no jackpot winner in last week’s draw. The numbers drawn were 18, 23, 25 and 30. There were three match-three winners McCormacks, Sharon and Fiona and Tony Flynn Next week’s jackpot will be €20,800 the lotto celebrates 25 years in existence this year and to celebrate this there will be a €3,000 jackpot for match three win or share on Sunday, October 14.

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8.30 p.m. for the summer months tea served.
