Jack makes his mark on X Factor
THE West Wicklow village of Manor Kilbride is bursting with pride this week as one of its own is making a big impact on the X Factor television talent show.
Jack Tisdall (17) entered the show as a solo act but was given a lifeline by the judges to join four other male artists to form boy band Vibe 5, which are now being tipped to be the next One Direction.
He received the news on Sunday that Vibe 5 are through to the all important judges’ house round in LA and will be mentored by pop icon Robbie Williams.
Jack confidently told the panel, including music industry mogul Simon Cowell last weekend that they heard ‘No’ as individual acts and cannot hear it again as a group. Son of Paul and Charlotte from Manor Kilbride, Jack attends secondary school in Templeogue in Dublin.
‘We are all just so proud of Jack. Since he could talk, all he did was sing. This is his lifelong dream,’ his mother Charlotte told the Wicklow People.
Jack first auditioned for the show in September and was encouraged to do so by his older sister Róisín who travelled with him to the UK.
He is also being cheered on by his younger brother Seán and the wider community including everyone at St Brigid’s NS, Kilbride where Jack attended and his mum works.
‘ The whole school is covered in bunting and pictures of Jack and everyone is cheering him on. It’s wonderful,’ Charlotte said.
Jack’s X Factor appearance follows that of The Price Brothers, Sean and Conor from Blessington who reached the quarter finals in 2017.
