Cemetery leak delays urn wall at Springfield

ENGINEERS have encountered a problem with the construction of an urn wall at Springfield Cemetery.

Engineer Stephen Fox said that the council has begun preliminary investigations at the site and found a leak at the top of the cemetery.

Before plans proceed, that must be addressed, he said.

Cathaoirleach of the district council Pat Vance said that money had been put by for this scheme some years ago and that it is absolutely necessary that things move forward.

The wall would be used to display urns containing ashes. Original designs were circulated to the members at last week’s meeting.
