WICKLOW Town and District Chamber will celebrate 70 years with the launch of the Business Achievemen­ts Awards, which will recognise excellence in business in the Wicklow town and district area.

Now Wicklow Chamber is calling for all businesses to get involved and participat­e in the new awards.

There will be four categories – Best New Business, sponsored by AIB Bank; Best SME, sponsored by Bank of Ireland; Best Eating/Hospitalit­y/Pub, sponsored by Wicklow Hire and Sales Ltd and Best Retail, sponsored by Wicklow County Council.

Wicklow Town and District Chamber is asking all businesses within Wicklow town and district to take part as this also provides an opportunit­y for you to promote their business.

Robin Bradley, President of Wickow Chamber said: ‘All the award winners will automatica­lly be promoted by extensive media exposure which will enable their business to gain a higher public profile’.

Once the nomination­s forms are in a short-list will be announced on Monday, November 5, and a Monkey Survey will be set up.

Members of the Chamber will then get to choose the winner and runner up in each category.

In order to participat­e, businesses must complete and return the nomination form to the Wicklow Chamber office or alternativ­ely send it by email to susana@wicklowcha­mber.ie or fill online at www.wicklowcha­mber.ie on or before 5 p.m. on Friday, October 19.

The winners will be revealed at the Chamber dinner dance on Friday, November 16.

During the ceremony awards will also be handed out which have been chosen by the Awards Committee - Honouring Excellence in the Community sponsored by Burke Oil; Honouring Innovation and Entreprene­urship sponsored by Herbst Software; Special Recognitio­n award sponsored by Wicklow Enterprise Park.

Tickets are now on sale and people are asked to book early in order to avoid any potential disappoint­ment.
