Good day in Greystones
WICKLOW RFC under-14 giris were on the road again to play near neighbours Greystones RFC in Dr Hickey Park. Both squads were keen to get match time ahead of the start of the Leinster League next weekend.
On a very windy day Wicklow showed their experience and with a strong defense soon started to get into their stride. With strong tackling and dominance at the breakdown Wicklow were soon to get on the score board.
Wicklow used their full squad for this match and the ‘new’ girls showed the progress they have made this season by maintaining a high tempo throughout the match. The score line was never a focus and the coaches were very pleased with how the whole squad played.
Wicklow have taken the bold step of entering two teams in the Leinster league to give regular game time to all our players.
Next weekend we start our Leinster League campaigns with two difficult away fixtures against Portdara and Portlaoise.
