The Glencormac United under-15s were in the SFAI Cup second round on Saturday when the travelled to Arlington to take on the home team. This was a great game of football played by both sides, it was a real end to end game in which the score line didn’t reflect the game. The Glens went 1-0 down midway through the first half but had the better of the chances for the rest of the half with the hosts keeper bringing of a super save to keep them 1-0 ahead at half time.

Then in the second half, Glens were well on top only for their keeper to pull off two more super saves and they eventually caught us on the break to make it 2-0. With Glens pushing hard and having a few more chances, they got caught in the last five minutes with two more goals when tiredness kicked in and chasing the game and it finished up Arlington four, Glens 0.

Massive respect for these 12 lads that made the journey and gave it their all for the club, they can certainly hold their heads up high with that effort.

The under-nines were away to Roundwood on Saturday and played four great matches with their hosts. There were some great standout performances by Oscar Morgan, Zac Bradshaw, Ben Merrigan and Hazel Prendergast, who got six goals in the series of games.
