Week 3 fixtures will not be till the weekend of Saturday the 20th-Monday, October 22 due to the International football break and these fixtures will be distributed to all players on Monday, October 15. Thank you everyone for your continued support. You can keep updated with the progress of our competition and the rules on our Facebook and Twitter pages. GAA

Newtown seniors played their last game of the season against a strong Éire Óg side in Roundwood two weeks ago, Éire Óg finished deserving winners. But more importantly Newtown remain in the senior championship and a higher league for the coming season. All in all it was a successful season for Newtown after winning their league and gaining promotion and maintaining their senior status all while blooding a lot of young players throughout the season who all showed great promise. The undernine management team have arranged a couple of blitzes over the next few weeks, the first of these took place last Friday in Newtown and there was a great turnout. For more info regarding details about upcoming blitzes give Alun a buzz at 086 3017500.

The under-11s played Kilcoole a couple of Saturdays ago in their last league game and despite missing a few regulars the lads put in a great effort but just fell shorts, their next outing is their last and is a mini festival final on Saturday the 13th in Ballinakill. The under-13s are played their county final on Monday, October 8, against Éire Óg at 7.15 p.m. in Ballinakill. The under15s played Tomacork in the championship last Monday and await their next fixture. Please check fixtures for confirmation of all juvenile matches.

All our juvenile teams are always on the lookout for more players and volunteers so if you want to get involved with any aspect with either a boys or girls’ team give our secretary Tom a buzz at 087 6611480. Training for the under-12 to under-14/ under-16 girls has stopped for a few weeks and we hope to resume at the end of September in preparation for next year.
