Motorist escapes road ban

GARDAÍ drove a woman to her shift after she was caught driving without insurance on the N11 at Drummin West.

Montie Basetsana, 11 Etchingham Heights, Courtown, County Wexford, was stopped on the morning of October 9, 2017.

Bray District Court heard on Thursday, October 4, that Basetsana had a policy at the time, but not for the vehicle she was driving. Her own car wouldn’t start that morning.

Evidence was produced in court that she is insured and has no history of driving uninsured.

Judge David Kennedy imposed a fine of €750 and opted not to impose a disqualification.
