Fairclough benefit gig sells out as fundraising continues
MUSICIAN Paul Fairclough and his family have been overwhelmed at a huge response to their appeal for help as he battles cancer.
A benefit concert to be held tonight ( Wednesday) at the Royal Hotel has sold out completely.
The evening is expected to be very special, and will feature Bagatelle, Ger Doyle and Friends, Bree Harris, Woodsie and friends, and many other wonderful musicians who have come together to support Paul.
Anyone not fortunate enough to have a ticket to the concert can still contribute to the fund.
A gofundme.com page which can be found under ‘A Night for Paul’ has collected in excess of €6,000 so far.
His friend Woodsie went for the chop this week to help up the proceeds, with hairdresser David Martin giving Eoin Woods a brand new ‘do’.
That particular endeavour raised a cool €300 for the fund.
A beautiful brand new Mayson acoustic guitar worth €800 was up for auction, but bidding ended this morning at 4 a.m.
The highest bidder will have been asked to make the payment to the fundraising page to seal the deal.
Paul’s musical career has spanned over 50 years. He has never hesitated to offer his services to any cause when invited.
In his early days he worked nationwide with The Cotton Mill Boys and Linda Martin.
He also worked with Bagatelle on numerous times.
Some of the best days himself and Bree had were with The Boulder Band and the Alias B Band who were very popular at that time.
Paul and Woodsie have worked together the last few years as The Bunko Bros.
Paul plays his sweetest music playing alongside his lovely wife Bree Harris.
