The Sinking of the RMS Leinster

-

‘ The Sinking of the RMS Leinster - 0ctober 10 and the last days of the war’ will be the subject of a talk tomorrow night, Thursday, October 18, at the Royal Hotel in Bray. The talk will be given at 8 p.m. by James Scannell, PRO of the Bray Cualann Historical Society. Admission is €5.

The illustrated presentation will recall the worst peacetime or wartime maritime tragedy to occur in the Irish Sea when the outward bound day sailing of the mail boat RMS Leinster was torpedoed within sight of land with the loss of at least 564 of those on board ironically one month and a day before the Armistice which marked the end of World War 1 came in to force.
