A FUNDRAISING event for the Courthouse Arts Centre in Tinahely will celebrate the words and music of Paul Simon.

The famed American singer-songwriter formed Simon and Garfunkel with Art Garfunkel in 1956 and his popularity continued to soar as he went on to pursue a solo career, including releasing the seminal ‘Graceland’ in 1986, an album inspired by South African township music and which went on to sell over 14 million records after its release.

The Courthouse Café returns with a celebration his work with a line-up of spoken word artists and musicians which will include Frank Gallagher, Brian Whelan, Deirdre Starr among others.

The event takes place on Friday, October 19, at 8.30 p.m. Tickets cost €10.
