Point to point racing returns to Fairwood

-

POINT to point racing returns to Wicklow on Sunday, November 21.

Shillelagh and District Hunt will hold its annual meeting in Fairwood Park, Tinahely, and entries secretary Mary Dagg has reported very good entries for the race card.

The Fairwood track has proven to be a first class race course over the years and the ‘Cheltenham-style’ fences are much praised by top trainers such as Willie Mullins, Ted Walsh, Philip Rothwell and Colm Bowe.

Many trainers and owners are welcomed each year from Northern Ireland and have had many winners over the years.

The point to point races have proven to be a great starting point for many of Ireland’s top class national hunt horses who have enjoyed victories at home and in the UK.

With John Dagg at the helm as clerk of the course, another great day’s racing is expected and commences at 2 p.m.
