A man accused of not having a valid tax disc saw his case struck out at Arklow District Court last Wednesday after he explained that he sold the vehicle the day before the offence took place.

Timothy O’Brien of St Mary’s Road, Dunmanway, Co Cork, was charged with the non display of a tax disc at Main Street, Carnew, on February 18, 2018. He told the court that he sold the vehicle on February 17 and that he was not driving it when it was detected by gardaí. The court agreed that his explanatio­n was genuine and the matter was struck out.
