Motoristis fined€2,500
A €2,500 fine has been imposed on an Arklow man charged with having an unregistered vehicle.
The charge was brought against David O’Gorman of Old Ashwood after customs officers detected the vehicle in his possession on March 16, 2016, and determined that it was not exempt under the Finance Act.
The defendant paid a €200 fee to have the car released after it was seized by officers.Revenue later found that the registration fee was not paid and issued a summons. Solicitor David Tarrant said that his client thought he would have been able to afford the registration costs but he was not.
