History lecture

The Kilmacanogue History Society members are greatly looking forward to their November lecture in the Glenview Hotel on Tuesday, November 6, starting at 8 p.m. Titled ‘The Barton and Childers families of Glendalough House, Annamoe, Co. Wicklow’, it will be presented by Seán J Murphy MA Historian and Genealogist, retired UCD Lecturer and presently attached to the National Library of Ireland, lecturing in Genealogy.

This will be a very interesting talk about the closely intertwined Wicklow families of Barton and Childers. In particular, the talk will deal with the careers of Robert Barton (1881-1975) and Erskine Childers (1870-1922), their contribution to the national cause and their spouses Molly Osgood and Rachel Warren of Boston.
