Results of the last whist drive – Top Score – C Doyle and B Kelly; second place – M Murphy and G Curran; third and fourth place shared – M Whelan and S Brady; M Haughton and R Murphy. Raffle winners were M Haughton and C Driver. Well done to all.

Next whist drive will be on Halloween Night Wednesday, October 31, at 8.30 p.m. in the Anne Devlin Annex, RDA Hall.

JOINT POLICING COMMITTEE MEETING

A reminder that a meeting of the Joint Policing Committee (JPC) will be held for the first time in Rathdrum tonight (Wednesday, October 24) at 8 p.m. in the RDA Hall. councillor Pat Kennedy has organised this meeting to be held in Rathdrum so that you have an opportunit­y to speak with Senior Gardaí about policing issues that affect the people of Rathdrum. Everyone is invited to attend.

GIVE BLOOD

There will be a Blood Clinic in Rathdrum today October 24 from 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Avondale GAA Complex. The blood bank is in constant need of blood supplies, so all over 18-year-olds are encouraged to attend. For more informatio­n about giving blood check out giveblood.ie.

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Rathdrum Tidy Towns team is holding a Children’s Halloween Party in the RDA Hall on Sunday, October 28 (3 p.m. 6 p.m.). €5 per child, payable on the door. Best costume prizes, including best dressed family.

Congratula­tions to Paul Gahan, Captain and all of the Avondale Hurling Team on comprehens­ively winning the Intermedia­te Championsh­ip on Sunday. A special mention for Man of the Match Ray ‘Fiddler’ Nolan, he was presented with his trophy by the sponsor Tony Brennan of Brennan Memorials. We wish them well on their return to Senior Ranks.
