BROADWAY came to Enniskerry last Saturday night, with the glitz and glamour of a show at the Powerscourt Hotel.

A total of €63,000 was raised on the night.

Ten teams and 80 artistes performed to 500 willing souls in the audience.

It was team Chicago who were the deserving winners on the night, combining a performance to be remembers with a great fundraising result. Organisers thanked the Powerscourt Hotel, the local national schools for the use of their facilities, volunteers and everyone who helped in any way, as well as the wonderful participants and their patient families. The event was part of a campaign to re- build the ‘Cage’ five-a-side astro facility in the Bog Meadow.

The audience couldn’t have asked for a more spectacular night of entertainment.

The fundraising campaign had already reached €10,000 and is supported by Enniskerry FC.

Fundraising efforts so far have included two bag-packs at Dunnes in Cornelscourt, over-35s players raised €1,000, and Enniskerry FC donated €5,000 from club savings. Last weekend the whole community in the village came together to stage the magnificent Enniskerry Broadway Show, with all of the town’s clubs and groups, schools and businesses invited to display their musical talents.
