Wicklow goes on a Winning Streak thanks to lucky trio

-

WICKLOW was on a Winning Streak on Saturday as three residents appeared on the popular National Lottery gameshow on Saturday.

Bray woman Margaret O’Brien was thrilled to see her daughter Mary’s ticket pulled out the week before. She always put her children’s names on Winning Streak tickets and Mary was the lucky charm.

Margaret’s €20,000 win could not have come at a better time as her son Timmy will marry his fiancée Joanna in just four week’s time.

Sharon King from Newtownmountkennedy, was visiting her son in Belfast when she got a call to say her that her partner, Noel McNulty’s name had been selected. Noel asked Sharon to go on the show for him and she proved to be a lucky charm for her husband as she walked away with a €33,000 prize.

Sharon, who has lived in Newtownmount- kennedy for more than a decade, grew up in Clontarf and lived in Tallaght before moving out to Wicklow. She has two sons Neil and Ryan.

Noel supported Sharon from the audience along with a number of family and friends. He has promised to get Sharon a new car with her winnings following her successful appearance.

The biggest winner of the evening was Teresa Byrne from Aughrim who walked away with €58,000, including a holiday to Sorrento.

Teresa is well known in the village, where she and her husband Peter run the local Londis supermarket and post office.

Co-incidentally she was a guest at the National Lottery Good Causes Awards with her daughter Caoimhe when her ticket was drawn for the show.

Teresa has been married to Peter for the past 48 years and the pair are proud parents to eight children.
