Filology

-

Filology jazz band and Jo Smyth will perform at the Hot Spot Music Club on Friday, November 16, at 8 p.m. Admission is €10 - €12.

Filology is a top-notch Corkbased band consisting of Roberto Carrazza on piano; Cormac Hennessy on double bass; John Philip Murray on drums. Josephine Smyth’s sweet voice adds further variety to the sound, which moves easily between songs from the ‘Great American Songbook’ through to Bebop and Latin American tunes.

They have performed in venues all over Cork including Connolly’s of Leap and the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival 2015 – 2017, with plans for 2018. The band has also had a Sunday evening residency at Counihan’s, Pembroke Street for the past year. For tickets go to thehotspot.ie.
