SHILLELAGH

BREAKING NEWS: The walkway around the perimeter of our spiritual home and theatre of dreams is now complete and open for business.

Wheelchair accessible the walkway (625 metres) is open to all enthusiasts and for anyone unable to avail of it during daylight hours the lighting will trigger at sunset and will remain on until 9.30 pm. Well done to contractor Tom Mc Donald and his crew for a job well done. Club chairman Mark Dempsey, Secretary Richard Lambert and committee member Lar Behan did Trojan work in getting the project up and running and completed.

A huge thank you to Mayo native Alan Togher, now living in Coollattin, and his young man Donnacha without whom the lighting system might still be at the planning stage.

Once the poles were erected enter Enda Foley and David Cullen who in weather conditions during which you would be reluctant to put out a milk bottle performed heroics to ensure the lighting system was complete ahead of schedule. A fantastic effort from all involved and we hope the walkway will be utilised by all enthusiasts.

The combination drawn in the club lotto draw on Tuesday, 30th October was 2, 20, 23 and 28. There was no jackpot winner. Megan O’Reilly, Chapel Lane, was the sole match 3 winner and procured 100 Euro, Tommy Murphy on the promoter’s prize again.

The next draw with the jackpot an enticing 3,800 Euro was scheduled for Monday last 12th November. Results will be available to all interested parties on Tuesday morning in all local business outlets, on the club facebook page and in next week’s club notes. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
