The heavy rain that fell on Friday was the real winner last weekend as most matches were called off with only three games surviving. The under-eights travelled to Avonmore on Sunday morning. It must have been the long journey down that made them a little sleepy as they lost both opening matches but rallied in their second games to draw and win one.

The under-11s travelled to Grey- stones on a wet Saturday morning and played a thrilling 1-1 with their hosts. Aishling Meehan scored the goal so the teams must meet again this week.

The under-14s travelled to Rathnew in the shield. The first half was a tight affair and remained 0-0 at the break. Rathnew took an early lead and then the Glens had a player dismissed for an off the ball incident and this ruined the game as Rathnew stretched the lead to 4-0 before Oisin Kelly pulled one back but Rathnew added a fifth to run out deserving winners. It is winner takes all this weekend now as Wicklow Rovers and the Glens do battle for a place in the Shield Final against Rathnew, who are looking to complete a treble after winning the league and cup.
