Network Ireland lunch helps raise funds for Tiglin

-

TIGLIN was the delighted beneficiary of a charity lunch hosted by the Kildare Branch of Network Ireland in the Osprey Hotel, Naas, recently.

Tiglin offers services to help people recover from addiction at their centres in Ashford and Brittas Bay, and also operate a homeless outreach programme delivered through their No Bucks Cafe.

Tiglin chairman Aubrey McCarthy conducted a very lively and successful auction which raised €6,600. The final amount raised will be announced next week and presented to Tiglin at an event in the spring. Among those welcomed through the doors on the day was the President’s wife, Sabina Higgins, who took time out of her busy schedule to attend the event along with Tiglin patron and former judge, Gillian Hussey.

Speaking about the lunch, Phil Thompson, CEO of Tiglin said: ‘Over 250 business women attended the hugely successful lunch. Everyone was extremely generous and we are very grateful. Tiglin tackles one of Ireland’s biggest social problems, addiction. We run the longest programme of rehabilitation in the country and that contributes to our high success rate of 76 per cent. The spotlight was on our women’s centre which houses twelve women in Brittas Bay. A number of the graduates of the programme attended the lunch, sharing their stories with the Network. They were an inspiration to the business women, demonstrating the hard work that it took to turn their lives around after decades of alcohol and drug abuse. There isn’t a family that hasn’t been hit in Ireland by some form of addiction over the years so their stories really resonated with attendees’.

Last year, Network Ireland’s Wicklow Branch supported Tiglin at their charity dinner.
