Happy times in Hollywood!

Celebratin­g a super year

HOLLYWOOD GAA CLUB held their annual dinner dance in Tulfarris last Saturday night.

The club were celebratin­g a very successful year on the field from a thriving Go Games to Senior football in league and championsh­ip.

The coaches and mentors and club officials from all levels were acknowledg­ed as being instrument­al in the club’s success at the various levels.

The Hollywood GAA Club supporters were given a special mention and they definitely deserved the accolade of Best Supporters of the Year as they travelled all over the county to back their teams of all ages.

It was noted that this support definitely made a difference to the teams when they needed a lift.

Players of the Year awards were announced on the night.

The finalists for Senior Player of the Year were Harry Wilson and Mikey Healy and with the votes being split evenly they were announced as joint winners.

The finalists in the Junior Player of the Year category were Dan Burke, Kevin Cullen and Stephen Burke with Stephen winning the award.

The Young Player of the Year finalists were Conall Byrne, Harry Houlihan, Matthew Kelly and the winner was the hugely impressive Robert Houlihan.

The most Improved Player of the Year finalists were Mikey Healy, Robert Houlihan, Ross Tyrrell and Shane Kelly with Ross Kelly winning that one narrowly on the night.

Congratula­tions to everyone and the best of luck to all in Hollywood GAA Club in 2019.
