Carnew’s finalists picked!
SIX COUPLES representing Coláiste Bhríde, Carnew, have been picked to go head to head with Creagh College in the Strictly Come Dancing final in December.
A total of 15 dancing partners took to the stage in the Amber Springs Hotel last Thursday night in a bid to make it to the final.
Anna Gahan, vice principal of Coláiste Bhríde, said more than 1,000 people gathered in the hotel for the semi-final.
‘It was a fabulous evening and a great family event,’ said Ms Gahan. ‘We look forward to meeting the six couple from Creagh College in the grand final.’
The student couples representing Coláiste Bhríde are Molly Rose McDermott and Killian McDonald; Jason Bolger and Sarah Kenny; Laura Doran and Conor Hughes; and Ciaran O’Keefe and Kate McConnell. The teachers representing the school are Kevin Morris and Aine Teevan, and Aidan Douglas and Michaela Smyth.
Talented choreographer Tara Ann Bolger prepared the participants in the lead-up to the competition.
The grand final will take place on Sunday, December 2, at 8 p.m., in the Amber Springs Hotel. Tickets are on sale now at €10 and are available from either Creagh College or Coláiste Bhríde, and from the dancers.
The money raised will be split between the two secondary schools.
