TALK ON WILLS/POWER OF ATTORNEY

Roundwood Bethany Bereavemen­t Support Group will host a talk and discussion by a qualified Solicitor on Wills and Enduring Power of Attorney on Wednesday, November 28, at 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Admission is free, and refreshmen­ts will be served.

SALE OF WORK

Roundwood and Moneystown Christmas Sale of work will take place in An Tochar GAA Complex on Sunday, December 2, from 12 4 p.m. A great day out for all the family with something for everyone. All donations for the various stalls will be gratefully accepted and can be left with Maureen in the parish office between 9.30 and 1 p.m. (Mon-Thurs) before November 29

SHEEPDOG TRIALS RESULTS

The results of the Roundwood sheep dog trials results held on November 1 are as follows: Open class: 1st, Miriam Letterer, 2nd, Billy Ryan, 3rd, Kristina Rozniach, 4th Ned O’Keeffe, 5th, Denis Birchall & 6th Billy Ryan. Novice Class: 1st, Edward Clahill, 2nd Billy Ryan, 3rd Andy Corrigan & 4th Ailish Dixon. Wicklow Class: 1st Denis Birchall, 2nd, Pat Molloy, 3rd Andy Corrigan & 4th Denis Birchall. The committee would like to thank all their sponsors and judges and all the competitor­s on the day.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The next event in the Roundwood Historical Society’s 2018 Series will take place on Monday, November 26, at 8 p.m. in Kavanagh’s (Vartry House). The theme for the evening is A Photograph­ic History of the society over the last 30 years.

We have several hundred photograph­s of society events from 1996 to 2018 which need to be catalogued and the participan­ts and locations identified. The older photograph­s have been scanned and we will present a selection of them with a view to making notes on the events and the people. We are looking forward to this trip down memory lane and it should be a fun evening of reminiscin­g. We look forward to seeing you on Monday, November 26, at 8 p.m. The entrance fee for members is €3 and for non-members is €5 payable at the door

CODER DOJO

Roundwood Coder Dojo has started back on Saturdays in Roundwood NS These are free fun computer coding sessions for age 7+. So get your laptops ready and join in for a session packed with coding. There are spare laptops available for use if required.

If you haven’t been back in a while or want to try something different why not come along and we talk about Scratch, web design and robotics. Please visit coderdojor­oundwood.com to register your child. No previous experience necessary. Volunteer mentors with computer coding experience are very welcome too. Nancy O’Brien and Brid Clancy took first place for North/South on Monday, November 12, second Phil Power and Catherine McGillycud­dy, third Claire O’Connor and Maria Magee and fourth Pamela and Margaret Byrne. East/West winners were Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd, second Marie Kavanagh and Geretie Fee and joint third/fourth Ger Lenihan, Paddy O’Brien Mary Pierce and Clare Sally.

Maria Magee and Rowena Brady played their cards right on Friday, November 16, to take first place for North/South, Noeleen Redmond and John Loscher were second Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd were third and fourth place went to Nancy O’Brien and Catherine McGillycud­dy. First place for East/West went to Paddy O’Brien and Ger Lenihan, second Phil Kenna and Liz Belton, Gertie Fee and Jane Cronin were third while Maura Gaskin and Bridie Nolan took fourth.

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s every Thursday night from 9 p.m. till 11 p.m.

It is proposed to have our November car boot sales on the second Sunday of the month on December 18.

Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action meeting at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the Coach House car park. All welcome to walk at your own pace for approximat­ely one hour.

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.

MONEYSTOWN 45

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8 p.m. for the winter months beginning on October 30. Tea served.
