STUDENTS BRING ’90S MUSIC BACK!
YOUNG singers, dancers and actors from Bray’s Pres and Loreto secondary schools raised the roof at the Mermaid last week with their production of ‘Popstars - the 90s Musical’.
The transition years had been working hard since September in regular rehearsals to perfect their routines and songs for the show’s fournight run. For many of the cast and crew, it was an unforgettable experience and worth every moment of sweat and tears to tread the boards in the local theatre.
In a nod to the halcyon days of pop music, it was boyband vs girlband in the hilarious musical set in a school in the 1990s.
Queen Bee Shannon Van de Witt and her hive, are up against Mark and his garage band-turned boy band, set to snatch the talent show title from Shannon’s Candy Girls.
Packed with hits from artists such as The Spice Girls, Back Street Boys, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, MC Hammer, Celine Dion and many more, audience members were brought back in time during the toe-tapping spectacle.
