CREDIT UNION’S €2,000 DONATION TO LAKERS
BRAY CREDIT UNION has presented Lakers with a donation of €2,000 towards sports equipment.
This follows a catastrophic fire in which the club lost its premises, transport and all of its equipment. Lakers has a new temporary premises on the Florence Road, to replace the Brady Centre which was ex- tensively damaged in the fire on October 5.
They are back up and running with classes and activities back on a full schedule with the headquarters now the old school building from the St Andrew’s Church community.
The club, which provides social and recreational activities for adults and children with intellectual disabilities, has been given the loan of four buses since losing their own four in the fire. The club said that they received numerous offers of accommodation, for which they are hugely grateful.
