Geraldine is person of the year
Bray woman Geraldine Fitzharris received the ‘Person of the Year’ award at last Friday’s Endeavour Awards, for her tireless work for Merchant’s Quay and other charitable causes.
Librarian Michael Kelleher also received a special award, this being the year of his retirement after serving the people of Bray for more than 40 years. Michael was presented with a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award at the ceremony which took place in the Royal Hotel.
It was a wonderful night, during which awards were presented in 12 different categories to groups and individuals who have made a difference in their communities.
Wolfe Tone kickboxing champion Amy Wall received the ‘Sports Achievement’ award; Bray Tidy Towns received the ‘Civic’ award.
The ‘Community’ award was presented to Bray Area Rough Sleepers Support (BARSS).
kick boxer Jack Hogan, young innovator Kevin Morely and rugby player Ben Murphy from Pres received the ‘Young Achievers’ award.
Colliers funeral directors were named ‘Local Business of the Year’, while Druid Software was named ‘Large Business of the Year’.
Retailer of the Year was Health Matters, with Maison Moli given the ‘Hospitality Venue’ award.
The Bray Air Display is going to need a bigger display cabinet for all its awards, having received this year’s ‘ Tourism’ prize.
Entrepreneur of the Year went to Aoife Mullane of A.mullane design.
The Bray Endeavour Awards are presented annually by Bray & District Chamber of Commerce, which works to promote business and support the community. First presented in 1981, the annual Chamber of Commerce Endeavour Awards are designed to recognise and reward the normal, ordinary people who do extra ordinary things.
