Calendar captures local scenes

-

KILMANTIN Arts have produced the perfect Christmas gift with the release of a calendar featuring the work of a selection of local artists.

The 2019 calendar showcases twelve images from artists and photographers who exhibit at Kilmantin Art Gallery on Bridge Street in Wicklow town.

‘We didn’t have a calendar last year but we have released them in the past and they have always done well. We are a not-for-profit organisation so the calendar just helps to raise extra funds for any events we may hold during the year,’ explained Berilyn Teeling, manager at Kilmantin Arts.

Ted Veal, Chairman of Kilmantin Arts, Caroline Lynch of Wicklow Tidy Towns, the Curtains and Blinds Centre and Bridge Street Books all had to select their three favourite images hanging in the gallery.

‘We have a wide variety of works, from watercolours to oils and acrylics. The calendar also includes some photographs. It would make for a perfect Christmas present and features images of some real local landmarks and scenes, like the Black Castle, Wicklow Lighthouse, Tinakilly House, the Sugarloaf, Glendalough and Kilmacurragh,’ said Berilyn.

The calendar is priced at €8, or €15 for two, and is available to purchase at Kilmantin Art Gallery.
