IRELAND Active, the representative body for the Leisure, Health and Fitness Industry, has awarded Shoreline Leisure in Greystones, County Wicklow with the ‘Best Leisure’ title at the National Quality Standard Awards.
The Annual event that took place at Druid Glens Resort on Friday, November 16 saw the Greystones facility recognised for its high standards across safety, hygiene, customer engagement and human resources.
The National Quality Standard Awards are designed to acknowledge excellence in the Leisure and Hotel Leisure Facility Industry. The awards which were this year awarded to 93 leisure and fitness facilities nationwide feature five separate categories namely, ‘Best Leisure’, ‘Best Hotel Leisure’, ‘Best Fitness’, ‘Best Newcomer’, and ‘Most Improved’.
Greg Loesken of Shoreline Leisure Greystone’s commented on the win, saying:

The competition amongst the categories grows every year, and we’re thrilled to be here to accept this award as a reflection of the hard work and dedication shown by our excellent team who gives 100 per cent to reach the highest benchmark of standards for our customers.’
Other winners across the county included Coral Leisure in Arklow and Wicklow, druids Glen, Shoreline Bray and Shoreline sports park, Charlesland.
The Awards were held in conjunction with Ireland Active’s annual conference, where some of the most notable names in the industry nationally and internationally, spoke on topics relevant to the leisure, health and fitness industry.

We are thrilled to acknowledge each facility for their outstanding accomplishments in the areas of safety, hygiene, customer engagement and human resources.’
The key note speaker at this year’s event was Colin Milner, CEO & founder of International Council on Active Ageing addressing the important contribution the health, leisure and fitness industry can play in keeping people active into older age.
