Donard celebrate

DONARD-THE GLEN CAMOGIE CLUB celebrated a successful year on the playing fields with a well-attended end-of-year presentation in Donard Hall recently.

A large crowd turned up to show their support for the various teams who won championships and who did the club proud regardless of the result in the season just past.

The Donard-the Glen under-16 team were presented with their medals following a wonderful championship campaign that saw them beat Kiltegan in the final and they also claimed league honours by getting the better of Avondale in the final game.

There was shield success for the under-14s after victory over Arklow rocks in the final and the healthy representation of DonardThe Glen players on the various county squads were honoured on the night as well.

The club’s sole representative on the Leinster interprovincial panel, Amy Barrett, was presented with an award for her exploits with the provincial team.

Chairperson of Donard-the Glen Camogie Club Mary Whelan welcomed the large crowd to the event. Also, in attendance were Wicklow Camogie chairperson Breda Byrne, Wicklow Camogie development officer Breda Donnelly and Donard-The Glen presidents Bridie O’Neill and Ann Lagrue.
