UNDER-16 FOOTBALL

Score: CCM. 6-16 points Gaelcholáiste Na Mara 3-02 points. The second round of the Wicklow section of the South Leinster ‘C’ qualifier group was played in Rathnew GAA grounds on Monday, November 19, between CCM and Gaelcholáiste Na Mara. CCM have a very strong squad, backboned by players from St Patrick’s and Rathnew and were never in danger of losing this game.

Aided by a very stong wind in the first half, they ran out to a 3-09 points to 0-0 points at the half-time whistle. To their credit Gaelcholáiste Na Mara never stopped trying and were rewarded with 3-02 points during the second half. Strong running and good ball carrying skills by many of the skillful CCM lads, along with some slick score-taking, showed that CCM will have a big say in this particular competition. Eoin Doyle, Killian Clarke, Callum Kelly, Mark Evans, Mark Whelan, Fionn Luddy and Ryan Kavanagh were excellent for CCM.
