WICKLOW Camogie welcomed the Association’s National President Kathleen Woods to the Garden County on Friday evening.

Kathleen and her husband made the trip from their home in Armagh.

The happy occasion was a function in the Arklow Bay Hotel for the presentation of medals won by Wicklow in 2018 at Leinster and All-Ireland level.

A very well attended event saw over 170 people celebrate the successes of the Garden County’s young players.

The Minor (under-18) girls received their All-Ireland ‘Strike for Glory’ medals.

Under-16s were presented with All Ireland ‘Progress to Success’ and Leinster ‘C’ Championship medals.

The under-15s won Division 4 of their national competition and also received their medals.

Finally, the youngest inter-county camogie experience comes for under-14/13s.

They had many successes during the season at blitzes in other Leinster counties. Wicklow had two teams in the Leinster under-14 blitz and both reached their respective finals.

On Friday, they were presented with their participation medals from Leinster and the Mairead Meehan Cothram na Feinne Award for Fair Play which they were awarded at the end of season All-Ireland finals.

‘Wicklow Camogie wishes to congratulate all the players who were honoured and to thank their parents and clubs for the con- tinued support,’ said a spokesperson.
