Tough away trips for Wicklow
WICKLOW’S hurlers and footballers hit the road this weekend as they get their Kehoe Cup and O’Byrne Cup campaigns up and running.
It’s the turn of John Evans’ footballers first as they head for Newtownforbes this Saturday evening at 7pm to face Longford in what should be a tough examination of the new-look side.
Eamonn Scallan’s hurlers will be tested to their limits when they travel to take on Westmeath on Sunday in their Kehoe Cup opener. It’s early days for the hurling camp with the Wexford native likely to learn exactly where his young squad is at come Sunday evening.
