CAREERSWORKSHOPEVENING
Many thanks to everyone involved in the success of our annual Careers Workshop Evening for our TY, fifth and sixth year students. Such is the scale of the evening we were delighted to host the event on Thursday, November 15, in our Junior School Hall.
The event affords our students the opportunity to have face-toface conversations with those involved in various career areas and to find out out more about college options from our past pupils, who are currently undertaking courses in the national universities.
Our sincere gratitude to all parents and friends of the school who gave so generously of their time to share their experience and knowledge with our students.
POSTER COMPETITION
Congratulations to Aoife Ni Chuinn, Anna Reynolds and Hugo Dunne, who took first, second and third places at the EUREKA Schools’ STEM National Poster Competition titled, ‘Believe in Science’. The competition was run as part of Science Week during November and was hosted by the Institute of Technology, Carlow, as part of their Science Week activities.
The students’ posters are currently on display in the Shaw Room in Carlow County Library on Tullow Street. The students were presented with their prizes in the Institute of Technology in Carlow recently.
TCD EXHIBITION AWARD
Congratulations to Nicholas Pochinkov (class of 2018) who has been awarded a Trinity College Entrance Exhibition Award 2018. Under the new Entrance Exhibition Awards scheme in TCD only one student from each school is awarded an Entrance Exhibition Award. We commend Nicholas on this achievement following on his Naughton Scholarship Award in October and wish him continued success on his academic journey.
WINTER BALL 2018
A huge congratulations and sincere thanks to everyone who was involved in ensuring the remarkable success of our winter Ball 2018 in the Powerscourt Hotel earlier in November. We are delighted that in excess €50,000 has been raised for two wonderful causes, The Laura Lynn Hospice and the Outreach Programme to Zambia. Many thanks to all those who donated and supported our winter Ball.
