Sean and Conor get ready to hit the road in 2019

- By DEBORAH COLEMAN

X-FACTOR stars Sean and Conor Price have seen the curtain come down on a busy, but exciting 2018.

The brothers from Blessington, who shot to fame on the hit UK television programme in 2017, haven’t stopped recording and gigging all year, and somehow even managed to sit State examinations in the midst of it all.

They started the year doing The X Factor 14-venue arena tour, then embarked on their own headline tour of Ireland and the UK, before releasing three singles that went to number 1 in the Irish ITunes Charts. Most recently, their first mini-album ‘Dreamer’, which was recorded at Dublin’s Windmill Lane Studios, debuted in the official Irish charts at number 8. Their final show of the year took place on Friday last at The Helix in Dublin.

Sean, who completed his Leaving Cert last summer, and Conor, who did his Junior Cert, agreed that it’s been a ‘mad year’ but said they are happy with the pace, explaining that their musical sound has been developing.

‘We’ve got a lot of cool music coming for 2019 that is really us and our sound so we’re really looking forward to that,’ Sean said. He added that they were blown away by their fans’ reaction to their mini-album.

‘It went straight to number eight in the official Irish charts which just blew our minds.’

‘Honestly, we couldn’t ask for any more, the support from our fans on Instagram and Twitter, they have been amazing,’ said Conor.

The pair have just announced their 2019 Irish tour dates and tickets are on sale now on their website, www.seanandconorpricemusic.com

The tour will run from January through to August and see them performing in 13 different venues across the length and breadth of the country. The tour starts at the Watergate Theatre in Kilkenny on January 26 and finishes in Castlebar on August 17. For fans hoping to catch them in concert, the nearest venues are the famous Olympia Theatre Dublin on June 29 and the National Opera House in Wexford town on July 20.

The brothers also have plenty of new music produced and ready for release in 2019.

‘We are really excited about 2019, loads of new music and exciting news on our development,’ Sean said.

The Price family took time out from their busy schedule to take part in Celebrity Ireland’s Fittest Family, which aired on RTE 1 New Year’s Eve.
