MOLLYS APPEAL RAISES €1,000

-

THE Mollys pub in Kilcoole raised over €1,000 for Greystones Cancer Support with a Christmas tree appeal.

They presented the organisation with a cheque for €1,040 last Saturday in Kilcoole.

Ian Robson from the pub had a great fundraising idea.

People could donate €5 to put a bauble on the pub’s Christmas tree, with money raised going to Greystones Cancer Support.

At first The Mollys had just a bare tree. But then, as people donated their €5, the tree became full of decorations.

Members of Greystones Cancer Support and staff from the pub all gathered and there was a big show of appreciation for their efforts.

The Mollys has also raised almost €3,600 for GCS through their ‘Make Sense with Cents’ campaign.

Make Sense with Cents was a special effort by GCS to collect pennies. They started doing this when the 1c and 2c coins went out of circulation. The Mollys came on board and installed counter collection boxes.
