Injured bouncer released from hospital
A SECURITY officer injured in a brawl in Bray has been released from hospital.
The incident took place at McGettigan’s bar some time after midnight on New Year’s Eve. The bouncer received a head injury and was hospitalised on the night.
Superintendent Pat Ward of Bray Garda Station said that gardaí are investigating allegations of assault and offences of affray linked to the incident.
Supt Ward said that gardaí are examining CCTV and in order to establish how many people were involved.
He said that units from Bray, Greystones and a number of outlying stations responded quickly to the outbreak of the fight at the Main Street premises. There were up to three or four patrol cars at the scene. One person was arrested and the incident remains under investigation.
While there was some damage caused, the establishment was able to open for business later in the day.
‘If anybody has information to offer we would be glad to hear from them,’ said Supt Ward.
